The zipper on my Lowepro sling camera bag unravelled the other day and would no longer work. The bag was a year and a half old, but I hadn't mistreated it in any way, so I went to the Lowepro website and checked out their warranty information. Lo and behold it had a limited lifetime warranty and after filling in my zipcode the website said I could actually return it to my local photostore who was listed on the site as an authorized dealer.
I grabbed my bag and ran down the street (a whole four blocks) to the store. I figured , hey at least I get to save on postage for returning the bag to Lowepro. I showed the clerk my bag and then waited for him to tell me (a) this damage wasn't covered by warranty or (b) it would be 6 months before a new bag would arrive. What he did next amazed me!
He walked out from behind the counter, went to a rack of camera bags, picked out an identical bag and handed it to me.
"there you go", he said
" don't you have to send my bag away?" I said
" the beauty of a lifetime warranty" he said.
One half hour after the zipper on my bag broke, my camera and equipment was packed in a brand new replacement bag - no questions asked.
If that isn't a great endorsement for Lowepro, what is?
This month I'll feature some of my recent favorites. I'm very fussy with my favorites, so I know they are all exceptionally good.
