Lights and Sirens

There is almost not a minute in midtown New York where you cannot hear a siren from a police car, ambulance or fire truck. I was returning to the hotel in the morning when a dozen police cars roared by with lights flashing and sirens wailing. Disappointed that I hadn't had my camera at the ready, a second group suddenly appeared in the block before me. I just got them focused in time. I think this is how they dispatch to various parts of the city at the beginning of a shift.
